General Tryout Information:

Tryouts are held each year at one of the practice fields in Riverside. The Coaches are responsible for organizing and conducting the tryouts, and team managers may be asked to participate. They are held every afternoon during that designated week. Most player selections will be made by the end of the week and invitations will be offered to selected players immediately following the conclusion of tryouts.

The Coaches will focus on: Attitude - always positive! Ball skills - Dribbling, passing, shooting and trapping. Coachability - Listens, does what is asked, flexibility in learning new skills. Desire - Loves to play, hardworking. Speed - 40 yard dash with or without the ball. Knowledge - understanding of the game and positions, good field vision. Teamwork - ability to get along with others, passing, communicating, putting the team before the individual, unselfishness.

Younger teams, U10 and below play 8 to a side and usually carry between 10 and 12 players on the roster. Older teams, U11 to U14, play 11 on a side and generally carry 14 players. The oldest age groups, U15 to U18, will often carry between 16 and 18 players on their roster.
